What is Listify?
Listify is a personal list-making app that lets you create, organize, and manage lists. It is operated by JR. By using Listify, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We've written it in plain English on purpose.
What we collect
We only collect information you provide directly through Google Sign-In:
- Your Google account name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture
- Your list data — the lists and items you create inside the app
- Your last login timestamp
We do not collect your passwords, payment information, location, contacts, or any other personal data beyond the above.
Why we collect it
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Create and identify your account
- Save and sync your lists across sessions
- Display your name and picture in the app UI
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics sold to third parties, profiling, or any automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is shared only with the following infrastructure providers who help run the app:
- MongoDB Atlas — database storage for your lists and account info
- Cloudinary — image hosting if you paste images into your lists
- Google OAuth — authentication only; we do not access your Gmail, Drive, or any other Google services
- Vercel — hosting and serving the application
Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and security practices. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
How we store it
Your data is stored in MongoDB Atlas, a cloud database service. Access is protected by authentication and is not publicly accessible. We use JWT tokens to keep your session secure.
No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
How long we keep it
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. We do not hold onto data we no longer need to provide the service.
If you request deletion of your account, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request. This includes your account info, lists, and any uploaded images stored via Cloudinary.
Some limited data may remain in database backups for a short period after deletion. These backups are automatically purged on a rolling basis and are not used for any other purpose.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Stop using the service at any time
To request data deletion or ask any questions about your data, contact us at contact@jrofficial.org. We will respond to deletion requests within 7 days.
In a future update, you may also be able to delete your account directly from within the app.
Cookies & local storage
Listify does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies of any kind. We do not use any third-party cookies.
We only use your browser's localStorage for a single purpose: storing your authentication token so you remain logged in between sessions. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any third party.
You can clear this at any time by signing out of the app or clearing your browser's local storage.
Children's privacy
Listify is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Listify after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
For significant changes, we may also notify you directly via the app or by email, so you're not caught off guard.
